247laptoplcd.com : Yes sir that's true car windshield can be fixed but unfortunately Laptop LCD can't. LCD means Liquid Crystal Display. So buying New is the only option available in order to fix Laptop. But you must keep in mind that your laptop must show picture on broken LCD. There must be data on broken LCD. You must see picture on LCD.

LCD board level repairs is also available options but board level repair success rate is low, as sophisticated instruments , expensive technology and qualified labor is required, so repair is not cheap.There are many repair units in Asia but for smaller quantity repairs it not worth sending part out of country.

But in case if the inverter is blown out , inverter cable is loose , toggle switch connections are damaged or any other part responsible to glow Laptop LCD is bad it wont solve the problem. But as you say, you don't see picture on LCD means either your laptop LCD is badly cracked and built in lamp is also broken or it has some more issues like inverter breakage, inverter cable breakage , LCD cable breakage or hope not- part of motherboard circuit failure. As broken LCD must light up as long as LCD lamp is not knocked off, but in your case it is not doing. We will suggest you to choose our Laptop LCD Replacement service in that case even Laptop has bad inverter or cable we can replace it. It will be hard to figure out what other parts are needed for repair as long as Laptop is not opened up and tested.

247laptoplcd.com : Yes it is possible to have LCD badly broken which has all circuits and electronics cracked up that badly so it does not accept data from LCD cable and lights up white, there is also possibility of having bad LCD cable or broken LCD cable which is damaged during accident. Again it is hard to figure out either only LCD is bad it is not fetching data from cable or cable is bad also not passing data to LCD or motherboard cable connector is also ripped off which is not passing data to cable and cable is not passing data to LCD. External monitor will work in any case as data is pass through total different channel which is supported by video card. We will suggest to opt for LCD replacement service then LCD purchase.

247laptoplcd.com : Either you have bad display which is not accepting data from LCD flex cable , either you have bad data cable which is not passing data to LCD. In rare cases I have seen bad motherboard not passing data to LCD cables. I will suggest you to go for further Diagnosis before you go ahead and purchase.

- What is CCFL? CCFL is Abbreviation of "Cold Cathode Fluorescent tube" . Known as Laptop LCD Bulb, Laptop LCD Backlight.
- I have laptop repair " know-how". I want to try to replace LCD Back Light Cold Cathode Fluorescent tube (CCFL), Can I just order CCFL? We don't sell CCFL as a part. CCFL Replacement is not at all easy job. Needs lot of patience, technical skills, Clean Room Technology and most important a skillful hand. Small mistake will damage LCD. CCFL success rate with Skillful hands is 80 %-20 %. (80%- Success) in other case success rate is (1%-99%). (Figures obtained from 2000 - 2003 Repair tickets).
I have my laptop brand, model number, and serial number handy. I cross referenced LCD part number from internet..........and I would like to order the screen ? NO NO NO. You must match part number from back of the screen with our inventory. Same laptop model accepts few different screens and you must match part numbers to avoid RMA for wrongly ordered parts.
- What is Laptop Backlight? Backlight is common term for CCFL and Laptop LCD Transformer (Inverter).
Do inverters (Transformers) Comes with LCD? Normally they don't come with LCD. You have to buy it separately.

Buying new screen might solve the problem might not. If it is CCFL related problem it will. But if it is not CCFL related problem. New Screen is also going to show up Dim/ Faint or Black.

Buying New Inverter might solve the problem, might not. Dim Screen / Faint LCD Screen problem could be CCFL Related, Could Be Motherboard Related, Could be Inverter Cable Related, Could be Toggle Switch Related, Toggle switch board related, Could be heat related. You must have professional diagnosis of the problem.
- I have got new LCD installed just few days back and I have (Dark Screen / Dim Screen / Faint LCD Screen Problem / Black Screen) problem!!! What should I do now?. We test all our LCDS before shipping or installing so there are less chances of CCFL getting bad. If you had broken screen and you got new screen replaced. You might have impact on inverter while your laptop screen got broke !!!

Then possibly laptop has inverter problem or laptop has multiple problems. Your laptop needs professional diagnosis of the problem.
Chances of inverter getting bad ........... 30%, Chances of CCFL getting bad 30 %, Chances of faulty cable / motherboard / other parts ........... 40%.
- Why " We- 247 Laptop LCD Superstore" did not replace the inverter while they replaced the screen?
Inverter is very sensitive device (high voltage power chip) Sometime it does not show up problem right away or within few hours after installing a new screen and we might not know about possible inverter failure. We test newly installed LCD or Screen for Few Hours. But after continues usage of the new LCD for days broken inverter can not withhold current supporting new LCD screen.
- What are the chances of having inverter broken while I broke the laptop screen? As per our experience chances are 50%- 50 %. Laptop inverter is either situated behind the laptop LCD screen or under the power switch button plastic. Which is adjacent to laptop screen.
I dropped my laptop. I have broken screen, Should I buy new inverter and replace it ? No you don't need as long as replaced new LCD screen does not show up any problems like faint icons, dim screen, black / faint screen.
- What is Compatible LCD Screen? LCD is very advanced technology. And all Manufacturing Companies are big & known. They manufacture alternative compatible parts with same resolution and same quality
Do all compatible screens work similarly in all models and all brands? NO NO NO !!! They don't. Sometimes Compatible screen works great in one model and brand but wont fit in other one. (Not because of technical incompatibility but laptop design -- (short flex cable, needs hinge adjustment etc.). Some screens even don't light up because of inverter settings.
- I am installing compatible screen, Do it going to effect performance of my laptop? No it wont as long as you have exact compatible screen. Even Laptop manufacturer uses different compatible screens in same model and they are considered as substitute screens.
- How should I clean my laptop screen? Use soft cotton boll. We don't recommend any liquid or cleaner.
- I only use my laptop while I am working? Should I turn off my LCD screen? Yes you should. Because LCD CCFL- bulb has it's own life.
- My laptop LCD is white ? Should I purchase a new LCD screen ? NO NO NO . As long as it is not conformed a bad screen you should not. White screen could be because of bad LCD cable, bad motherboard, bad LCD cable connector, bad heating assembly, bad connection and many other possible part failures.
- My laptop LCD screen is expensive. Is there any off the market, duplicate part which I can install and make it work? NO NO NO . LCD Technology is very expensive technology. There are 15 - 20 vendors (Big Names and Known Companies). Almost all of them are listed in left hand side Column. LCD Technology needs huge, enormous investment and up to date latest technology, Facilitated production houses and advance research facilities. There is no space for smaller vendor.
- I bought LCD but lamp connection to inverter is different then what i have . What can i do now ? LCD comes with different lamp connections ( CCFL Connectors ) as picture below, depending upon laptop model number and inverter type. Computer Store can easily modify connector using easy grafting method. Please give us call 201 330 0477 and we will help. End user might request adaptor or send us lcd to change connector type . Mention connector type you have and we will send adaptor accordingly.
- My flex cable connector looks different then LCD i have received. Though pin size and count seems same. I can not install LCD properly !!! . If your laptop has locking connector cable mostly its printed on back of LCD.locking flex cable (LFC ). In such cases you have two choices either you can request compatible LCD with locking connector reciprocal or you can remove locks from cable as LCD you received does not have reciprocals for it.If I remove locks from cable.LCD will stay in position ? Yes it will . Locking flex cables (LFC )is very new technique in market. So far all LCD were without reciprocal lock connector and cables with out lock.
Cable connectors pins do have interlocking mechanism with LCD which keeps flex cable tight and secure .For additional security you may use electrical tape.( Dell & Apple laptops so far has LFC all other brands have regular flex cable. (RFC).
- What tools I need to remove locks from cable ? You just need sharp plier or knief. It is just little stopper made of plastic. Little pressure will remove locks.
- Do I need to modify LCD connectors on LCD. NO NO NO!! Even if you have such question in mind after reading above description. Dont do anything. Call us. You dont have to modify LCD at all.
